Five signs your Google Ads budget is being wasted
If your campaigns feel busy but your sales do not move, your budget may be leaking. Here are five signs to look for.
A Google Ads account can look busy and still lose money. Clicks roll in, the dashboard fills with numbers, yet the sales and enquiries that pay the bills barely move. If that sounds familiar, here are five signs your budget is leaking.
1. You cannot tie sales or enquiries to specific campaigns
If you cannot say which campaign brought which sale or enquiry, you are flying blind. Proper conversion and call tracking is the foundation of everything else. Without it, you are optimising on guesswork.
2. Your ads show for searches with no buying intent
Broad keywords pull in browsers, researchers and people who will never buy. Tight keyword choices and a healthy list of negative keywords keep your budget on the searches that signal real intent.
3. Clicks land on your homepage, not a page built to convert
Sending paid traffic to a generic homepage wastes good clicks. The right landing page matches the search, answers the question and makes the next step obvious, whether that is a purchase, a call or a form.
4. Nobody checks the account between reports
Search behaviour, competitors and costs shift constantly. An account left alone for a month drifts. Daily monitoring catches wasted spend early and acts on opportunities while they still matter.
5. You are paying a percentage of your ad spend
If your agency earns more when you spend more, do not be surprised when the advice is always to spend more. A fair, fixed fee keeps everyone focused on results, not budget.
Fix even two or three of these and the same budget can work a great deal harder. If you would like a second pair of eyes, we are happy to take a look.
